Nine Gold Medals! San Mateo County Art Competition 2007!

Art Academia is a European art school for children and adults, as well
as a working studio. The founder and instructor, Inna Polnar,
is a professional artist who received her B.A. in fine arts at the
Moscow University of Art in Russia.
Influenced by her curriculum in Moscow, the guiding philosophy at
Art Academia is based on a classical style of instruction with emphasis
on theory, observation and execution.

By having a chance to study in a working art studio, students are able
to observe the entire art-creation process from a sketch to the complete
painting. Students and guests are able to visit our gallery where a
permanent exhibition displays the works of Inna Polnar as well as
a rotating exhibition of featured artists.

Art Academia has developed an amiable reputation for providing individual
attention and strict European based academic knowledge. Our classical
methods of education provide the fundamental basis for developing artistic
talents and expression through art.

All students are welcome, from the complete beginner to the experienced
artist seeking practice and refinement.

Art Academia is located in the center of downtown San Mateo. From 3rd Av.,
a brick alleyway leads into a large, sun-drenched studio with ceiling-high
windows and state of the art lighting system. A beautiful outdoor backyard
compliments a large working space for both painting and ceramics; and the
staff ensures that students with a desire to unleash their artistic potential
will learn essential skills to master the fundamentals and develop personal
expression and style.
