Adults (18+) Studio and Plein Air Paintings
Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor
Students will develop and refine their personal style with full autonomy of their artistic media and subject matter. Students will learn color theory and master the foundational painting techniques needed to create vibrant three-dimensional paintings.
Working on site (Plein Air) students will understand how to work with line and air perspective. Will be able to abserve plains colors and learn how to paint the "air". Concepts of color, values, contrast, air perspective, and harmony will be studied and refined.
Kiddos (5-7) Watercolor
Kids just starting out in art tend to use single colors, shades, and dimensions to express the way they see the world. This class opens their eyes and minds to recognize the rich mosaic of color combinations and values actually present in everyday objects such as apples, teddy bears, and the sky above. By introducing students to color mixing, light, shadows and air perspective, students learn to paint three-dimensional objects and build a solid foundation for future artistic study.
Children (8-12) Acrylic, Watercolor
Children will learn principles of light, color temperature, values, and color mixing to create three-dimensional still life and fictional paintings. Students will also be introduced to various brush stroke techniques and air perspective to gain a basic understanding of landscape painting principles.
Teens (13-17) Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor
Students will learn color theory and master the foundational painting techniques needed to create vibrant three-dimensional paintings. Concepts of color, values, contrast, air perspective, and harmony will be studied and refined. Students will be introduced to portraits and human anatomy, and explore conceptual art techniques which can serve as strong additions to an aspiring artist's college portfolio.
