Traveling Art Workshop | CHINA

Pack your paint brushes and renew your passport because we’re embarking on an
artistic tour of China and you’re invited. See the sites, taste the culinary creations
and revel in the company of fellow travel-artists in one of the most aesthetically
diverse countries in the world.

 
Hosted by two professional art instructors, you’ll refine your artistic talents while
exploring the country on an all-inclusive art experience. Our private group will be
accompanied by a professional guide at all times to ensure a safe and memorable
travel experience. All transportation, housing and meals are included and you don’t
have to worry about carrying heavy art supplies because a private bus will be on
hand from early morning to late at night

December 1, 8 and 15. - Copy of a famous or favorite artist.
Paint the copy of your chosen artist's work (still life, landscape, or
portrait) close to the actual size of the original. Copy will be 2" to
3" larger or smaller than the original. Bring your own reproduction.
Look for quality and size.
Specific technique of painting a copy
Cost: $400

January 5, 12 and 19. - Painting without visual data
(such us
still life, landscape or the model). Use your sketch/sketches or
photo/series of photographs.
Paint your own painting, based on the previous experience of
copying your favorite artist.
Cost: $400

2005: Second Annual Art Academia Art Competition

Students from Art Academia participated in the competition which
was judged by Van Waldron. Mr. Waldron has been a professional
painter for over 40 years and has judged art shows for 30 years.
Congrats to all winners and thank you to all who came!

2004: First Annual Art Academia Art Competition

Twenty-eight students from Art Academia participated in the
competition, presenting works they had created using a variety of
media including oil, pastel and charcoal. Local artists Marjorie
Weigel Hyman, Lisa Andrews and Gale France served as judges
for the competition. Congrats to all winners and thank you to all who came!

March 12, 2004: Grand Opening Ceremony and Exhibit

Art Academia celebrated its official grand opening. The San Mateo
Chamber of Commerce and the mayor of San Mateo, Carole
Groom, led the ribbon cutting ceremony and gave a welcoming
speech to all who came to celebrate the event and enjoy the art
exhibit. Thank you to everyone who participated this special event!
