We are offering a four month program featuring weekly
classes in
our bright and sunny studio in San Mateo at Art Academia
(www.artacademia.com).
Mondays 10:00 - 4:00 pm with half hour lunch brake.

(Two days on location and third day in studio)
Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

December 1, 8 and 15. - Copy of a famous or favorite
artist.
Paint the copy of your chosen artist's work (still
life, landscape, or
portrait) close to the actual size of the original.
Copy will be 2" to
3" larger or smaller than the original. Bring
your own reproduction.
Look for quality and size.
Specific technique of painting a copy
Cost: $400
January 5, 12 and 19. - Painting without visual data
(such us
still life, landscape or the model). Use your sketch/sketches
or
photo/series of photographs.
Paint your own painting, based on the previous experience
of
copying your favorite artist.
Cost: $400

2005:
Second Annual Art Academia Art Competition
Students
from Art Academia participated in the competition
which
was judged by Van Waldron. Mr. Waldron has been a
professional
painter for over 40 years and has judged art shows
for 30 years.
Congrats to all winners and thank you to all who came!
2004:
First Annual Art Academia Art Competition
Twenty-eight
students from Art Academia participated in the
competition, presenting works they had created using
a variety of
media including oil, pastel and charcoal. Local artists
Marjorie
Weigel Hyman, Lisa Andrews and Gale France served
as judges
for the competition. Congrats to all winners and thank
you to all who came!
March
12, 2004: Grand Opening Ceremony and Exhibit
Art Academia celebrated its
official grand opening. The San Mateo
Chamber of Commerce and the mayor of San Mateo, Carole
Groom, led the ribbon cutting ceremony and gave a
welcoming
speech to all who came to celebrate the event and
enjoy the art
exhibit. Thank you to everyone who participated this
special event!
